Slowing down, reconnecting with ourselves and discovering a place through its traditions can be one of the most powerful ways to recharge, both personally and professionally. This Erasmus+ KA1 teacher training course combines mindfulness practices for stress management and emotional wellbeing with hands-on learning about local cultural heritage. It is fully practical: you will learn through movement, observation and direct contact with your surroundings, not through long theoretical sessions.
During the first three days, you will focus on mindfulness and emotional self-awareness. You will practise breathing, mindful movement and attention exercises, many of them outdoors. You will also learn practical tools to reduce stress, manage emotions and find more mental clarity in your daily life and work. During the last two days, the course moves into the local heritage itself, with learning sessions at historic sites, hands-on workshops with traditional crafts and practices, and the discovery of local food traditions. These sessions are part of the course programme. You will see how heritage can be a source of calm, curiosity and connection, and how to use cultural heritage and mindful observation as learning tools with your students.
By the end of this professional development course, you will have a personal set of mindfulness practices, a deeper understanding of local traditions and practical ideas to bring both wellbeing and cultural heritage education into your teaching.
