School Leadership and Management: Vision, Teams and Change
About this course
This Erasmus+ course is for head teachers, deputy heads, middle leaders (heads of department, coordinators and team leaders) and managers of educational organisations, including schools, VET centres and adult education providers. It is designed for leaders who want to lead their organisation or team with more clarity, confidence and impact. Leading in education today means balancing many demands at once: setting a clear direction, supporting and motivating staff, managing day-to-day operations and guiding the organisation through constant change. Middle leaders have an extra challenge, because they lead colleagues while also reporting to senior management. You will work on the core areas of educational leadership and management: building a shared vision and organisational culture, leading and developing effective teams, delegating and managing time, holding difficult conversations, making better decisions based on evidence, and planning and leading change. You will also reflect on your own leadership style and learn how to look after your own wellbeing and that of your staff. Sessions are practical and based on real situations, with case studies, group work and simple tools you can use straight away. The course also gives you the chance to exchange experiences with leaders from across Europe, compare education systems and build new contacts for future Erasmus+ projects. You will leave with a leadership toolkit, a clearer picture of your strengths and a realistic improvement plan for your organisation or team.
