Advanced AI for Schools: Custom GPTs, Automation and Smart Workflows
About this course
Using an AI chatbot to answer a question or draft a text is only the beginning. The real time savings come when you know which AI tool is best for each task, combine several tools and build assistants for the work you repeat every week. This Erasmus+ KA1 training course is an advanced AI course for teaching and non-teaching staff in secondary, vocational (VET), higher and adult education who already use AI regularly and want to take the next step.
Over five days, you will get the best out of the main AI tools for education:
- ChatGPT for writing, planning and creating materials
- Gemini for working with Google Workspace
- Microsoft Copilot for documents, emails and reports in Microsoft 365
- NotebookLM for researching and summarising your own documents
You will compare their strengths, choose the right tool for each task and use advanced prompting techniques. You will also combine several tools in efficient workflows, from research and document analysis to creating teaching materials and reports. You will build your own custom assistant with your own instructions and documents for tasks such as creating activities, giving feedback or answering frequent questions. You will also learn to apply clear rules for responsible use, protecting personal data and checking every result.
By the end of this professional development course, you will have a personal AI toolkit, your own custom assistant and at least one complete AI workflow for your daily work, ready to share with colleagues.

- Use NotebookLM to research, summarise and create materials from their own documents.
- Design, build and test custom assistants and GPTs for specific tasks.
- Automate repetitive classroom and management tasks with AI.
- Understand the strengths and limitations of the main AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and NotebookLM.
- Identify which tasks in teaching and school management can be improved or automated with AI.
- Recognise how custom assistants and GPTs work, and how instructions and documents shape their answers.
- Explain the main risks of advanced AI use, including data protection, errors and over-reliance, and how to manage them.
