About this course
Cultural Exchange and Heritage: Bridging Generations and Borders is an adult education group mobility that explores how cultural heritage connects people across ages, communities and countries. It is designed for adult learners of all backgrounds, including those with little previous training or fewer learning opportunities, and requires no prior knowledge of heritage or history. Sessions use plain language, visual materials and hands-on activities so everyone can take part fully.
Through storytelling, workshops and team projects, participants discover how traditions, crafts, music, languages and family memories are passed between generations and shared across borders. They explore heritage as a living resource for identity, inclusion and active citizenship, look at sustainable ways to protect and value it, and use simple digital tools to collect, record and share stories.
Each participant follows a personal learning path, from an initial self-assessment to a final review of competences gained. Participants leave with practical skills in intercultural communication and storytelling, a group digital heritage archive, a personal learning portfolio and an action plan to bring intergenerational heritage activities to their organisation and local community.

- Understand the difference between tangible and intangible cultural heritage and why both matter for identity and community life.
- Identify how traditions, crafts, music, language and food are passed between generations and adapted when people move.
- Recognise the role of heritage in social inclusion, dialogue between generations and shared values.
- Explain how heritage connects to sustainability, including traditional knowledge, reuse and care for places.
- Recognise simple ways to collect and record personal and community stories respectfully and with consent.
