Personalised Erasmus+ Job Shadowing Programme

About this course

Erasmus+ job shadowing is one of the most practical forms of teacher mobility and professional development abroad. You learn directly from European colleagues by seeing how they teach, train, organise and support learners in their real working environment. This structured job shadowing programme is designed for Erasmus+ KA1 staff mobility (KA121 accredited projects and KA122 short-term projects) and can be adapted to vocational education and training (VET), school education and adult education. Teachers, trainers, school leaders and educational staff carry out planned observation in classrooms, workshops or workplaces, based on their professional profile and learning goals.

The observation focuses on teaching and training practices, learner support, the organisation of the centre and its quality standards. Before the mobility starts, you receive the schedule of the classes or sessions you will observe. During the observation days, you follow the timetable of your host teacher or trainer and take part in the daily life of the host organisation. Breaks give you time for informal professional exchange with your host teacher and other staff members, so you can ask questions, compare practices and build contacts for future Erasmus+ cooperation. At the end of the programme, you leave with first-hand experience of good practices in another European education system and concrete ideas to bring back to your own school or organisation.
