Description
This 5-day course aims to provide teachers with practical knowledge and experience in implementing the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach. Participants will explore how CLIL creates a natural context for learning both subject content and foreign languages, increasing students’ motivation, engagement, and communication skills.
Through workshops, classroom observations, and job-shadowing activities, teachers will learn effective strategies for integrating language and content, designing CLIL lessons, and assessing student learning. The course also highlights the role of CLIL in developing critical thinking, collaboration, and social competencies.
By the end of the programme, participants will be prepared to introduce CLIL into their teaching practice and support students’ language and academic development in an engaging and meaningful way.
The participant is able to:

understand the role of the CLIL teacher in a multilingual and inclusive classroom

plan CLIL lessons with clear content, communication, cognition, and culture objectives

scaffold subject language for learners with different language levels

design classroom activities that promote interaction, critical thinking, and collaboration

adapt CLIL materials for mixed-ability groups and diverse learning needs

create formative and summative assessment tasks suitable for CLIL contexts

The methodology is based on practical workshops, collaborative tasks, discussion, reflection, peer feedback, and lesson design. Participants work with real classroom examples and create their own CLIL resources throughout the course.
