Every culture has its own way of living, celebrating, eating, dressing, moving and enjoying free time, and discovering another culture is also a way of seeing your own with fresh eyes. This Folklore course offers a practical and lively introduction to Spanish culture, always in dialogue with the cultures participants bring from their own countries.
You will explore the main aspects of Spanish culture and traditions, including daily life and social customs, traditional dress and fashion, music and dance, sports and leisure, food and lifestyle. For each topic, you will compare Spanish traditions with those of your own country, analyse similarities and differences and discuss how to draw inspiration from both. The course is designed for those who are curious about Spain and looking for a new perspective and inspiration, and who also want to share the richness of their own culture with others. You will also learn how to bring what you discover into your classroom, planning activities on music, dance, food, traditions and daily life for your students.
By the end of the course, you will have a deeper understanding of Spanish culture, a set of ready-to-use cultural activities for your students and an attitude of openness, curiosity and cooperation that is valuable in both professional and personal life.
