Mindfulness is the ability to pay open, kind and direct attention to what is happening inside and around us in the present moment, without judging it and without being carried away by the pressures of everyday life. This Mindfulness course offers a practical and gradual introduction to this practice, with tools you can naturally bring into your daily life to know yourself better, reduce stress, increase creativity and concentration, and live with a more attentive and balanced attitude.
Over ten days, you will learn and practise mindfulness step by step. You will start with attention, breathing and body awareness, and move on to observing thoughts, understanding emotions and developing self-compassion. You will explore how mindfulness helps you manage stress, respond rather than react, communicate with more empathy and find calm and focus in the middle of school life. The longer format gives you time to practise every day, build a personal routine and feel the benefits for yourself. In the final days, you will discover how to help your students cultivate presence of mind, heart and body, with simple activities and routines that support concentration, calm and wellbeing in the classroom.
By the end of the course, you will have your own mindfulness routine and a set of practices to bring more calm, attention and presence into your teaching.
