Every child deserves to feel understood, supported and able to succeed at school. For children with special educational needs, the difference often lies in how the adults around them respond: with understanding, empathy and the right strategies at the right moment. This course gives you practical tools to create an inclusive and supportive classroom where every child can learn, grow and feel valued.
You will explore effective ways to prevent and manage challenging behaviour, understanding what behaviour may be communicating and responding calmly and consistently. You will learn how to build positive relationships with each child, support their emotional wellbeing and use positive reinforcement to encourage the behaviours you want to see. The course also focuses on individualised support: observing each child's needs, designing tailored interventions and adapting your approach to different learning and behavioural profiles. All the strategies are based on evidence and practical experience, and you will practise them through case studies, role-plays and group work.
By the end of the course, you will feel more confident turning difficult moments into opportunities for growth, both for your students and for yourself, and you will be ready to build a classroom culture based on respect, cooperation and enjoyment of learning.
