Professional skills for school staff and NGO teams

About this course

This professional skills course is for school staff and NGO teams who want to work more effectively, communicate with confidence and feel more in control of their daily tasks. It is open to administrative, technical and support staff, coordinators, project officers, volunteers' coordinators and anyone who keeps an organisation running behind the scenes. These roles are essential, but they are often left out of professional development, even though they deal every day with colleagues, families, beneficiaries and the public.

Over five days, you will build the practical skills that make the biggest difference at work: clear communication in person, by phone and by email, dealing with difficult situations and complaints, organising your time and priorities, using simple digital tools to work better together, and collaborating in teams. Sessions are practical and relaxed, with real workplace scenarios, role-plays, group work and exchange with participants from other countries and organisations. You will also reflect on your own strengths and how to manage stress and workload in a healthy way.

You will leave with a personal skills toolkit, ready-to-use templates and checklists, and a small improvement plan for your role and team.
