The 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out a shared plan for a fairer and more sustainable world by 2030, but global goals only make a difference when they turn into concrete actions in our own organisations and communities. This SDGs course shows you how to bring the goals into the everyday life of your organisation and how to design local projects that create real impact. It is open to everyone: staff and leaders from schools, adult education, universities, NGOs, public bodies and companies.
Over five days, you will gain a clear understanding of the 17 goals and how they connect with each other, and learn how to analyse where your organisation already contributes and where it can improve. You will explore how to integrate the SDGs into daily decisions, such as purchasing, energy, waste, communication and internal policies, while avoiding empty messages and "SDG-washing". You will then focus on four areas where local action makes a real difference: sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption, climate action and equality. Through case studies, group challenges and practical workshops, you will learn how to identify local needs, build partnerships with other organisations and the community, and measure the impact of your actions.
By the end of the week, you will have designed an SDG action plan for your organisation, with clear goals, actions, partners and indicators, ready to present to your team.
